Dinner with Bill & Friends is in memory of an early ambassador for people with intellectual and developmental differences, Bill Sackter. Bill spent the better part of his life in an institution and, when eventually moved into the community, he spoke often of the need we all have for “a good friend, a good job and a good home.”
The focus is to celebrate and inspire change – something The Arc Jacksonville has focused on since our founders came together more than 50 years ago. We pledge to continue to innovate programming and services so that individuals may live fully within our wonderful community for decades to come.
The Arc Jacksonville is honored to have Blake Wilson, President & CEO TIAA Bank, as chair for this year’s dinner. Blake and EverBank – now TIAA Bank – have been long-time supporters of The Arc Jacksonville and were instrumental in making The Arc Jacksonville Village a reality.
In sponsoring Dinner with Bill & Friends, you will celebrate the achievements of all individuals and help sustain much needed programs in our community. Last year’s dinner had more than 500 in attendance, raising $205,000. Your sponsorship will ensure that The Arc Jacksonville continues to elevate and empower individuals to achieve the “good life” we all want – a good home, a good job and good friends!
The Arc Jacksonville’s mission is to serve people with intellectual and developmental differences to achieve their full potential and to participate in community life. The Arc Jacksonville provides a multitude of services, supports, education, care and advocacy across the life span to ensure the 500 individuals served have opportunities to choose how they live, learn, work and play. The Arc Jacksonville’s most recent audit reported that 90.8% of expenses are program related.
