Mental Health Services

The Arc Jacksonville’s Mental Health Services is committed to the emotional, behavioral and overall mental wellness of individuals with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our Mental Health Services focus on addressing each person’s mental health concerns to increase independence, adjust to community social settings and reenter the workforce by taking a comprehensive and integrated approach to the connection between physical and emotional stability.

Individuals participate in private and/or group sessions to address their personal concerns. Participants are also able to practice the skills they are learning while gaining employment experience and earning a paycheck through the Triumph Industries Day Program.

Services offered

Individual Therapy

Individual Therapy is private one-on-one sessions focusing on the individual’s personal concerns, behaviors and reactions as well as managing and, if appropriate, eliminating symptoms. Individual therapy can also include family members.

Group Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR)

Group PSR is education-focused and concentrates on restoring and improving independent and daily living skills such as symptom and medication management, using community services, money management, meal planning, hygiene and more. Groups also discuss how thoughts and reactions influence daily interactions.

Group Therapy

A more therapeutic approach, group therapy is designed to assist people in communicating and connecting with peers and important people in their lives. Group therapy focuses more on developing empathy and accepting differences while exploring similarities with others.
