A Community of Firsts …
The Arc Village, a project of the The Arc Jacksonville, is Florida’s first planned community of affordable apartment-style rental homes for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- The first community for persons with I/DD to be located near a bustling commercial
corridor offering employment opportunities, grocery stores, restaurants, medical
facilities and public parks - The first community to target employment opportunities nearby with public
transportation at the community entrance - The first to encourage families and friends to share in daily activities such
as trips to the store, doctor visits and movies - The first to maximize partnerships to reduce costs

The Jacksonville 2025 vision calls for a diverse and inclusive community in many dimensions that carefully protects the rights of all its citizens, including those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The Arc Village will help Jacksonville become this type of community.
The Arc Village offers persons with I/DD a new chance to be an active part of the greater Jacksonville community, and opportunities for recreation, entertainment and social networking.
The Arc Jacksonville requires $7.5 million in philanthropy to establish The Arc Village. This includes a $2 million programs/services endowment.

The Arc Village heralds a new era in community living for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). The design of The Village encourages persons with I/DD to live independently in their own homes, enjoy the safety of a secured neighborhood, socialize and share with other villagers AND venture beyond the property to enjoy the educational, employment and recreational opportunities found in the thriving metropolitan Jacksonville area. The Arc Village will allow residents to be a part of the Jacksonville community in a way that has previously not been possible.
