Residential Services
The Arc Jacksonville offers the highest level of quality care in residential services. Our Bert Road, Jammes Road, Kaden, Melson and St. Nicholas group homes provide residential services to 38 individuals with a primary diagnosis of a intellectual and developmental disability. Each home serves a specific population and has specific entrance and exit criteria. All community-home residents receive individualized training to increase or maintain self-care, daily living and community safety skills. Residential services also provide a wide range of educational training in various areas, including individual choice, rights, medications and basic education. The residents also enjoy and participate in many community activities.
The Arc provides supported-living services to individuals residing in their own homes and communities of their own choosing. These services are individualized and are based on the needs and choices of the individuals and their circle of support.
Michael’s Family Found The Support They Needed Through Placement In A Group Home
Michael came to The Arc Jacksonville for help with his multiple disabilities, which included constant seizures, multiple allergies, inability to walk, lack of short-term memory, loss of fine motor skills, and physical and behavioral issues. Within six months, Michael had made huge leaps forward. His aggressive behavior decreased, his seizures receded, and Michael can now walk and get a full night’s sleep. He now attends Adult Training Day sessions, which he could not do previously. Thanks to the dedication of The Arc staff and the support of the Strickland family, Michael has made excellent progress.
