Mental-Health Services
The Arc Jacksonville is unique in its willingness to provide services for individuals with both intellectual and developmental disabilities and disabling mental-health concerns. These are offered through Community Behavioral Health Services, as part of our Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Program.
For those living with mental illness, we offer training in a wide range of skills that are important for independent living and for building healthy relationships. These include group therapy, paid work opportunities, medication education, symptom management, computer training and other skills.
Specialized group therapy is also available for individuals with the dual diagnosis of mental illness and intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is undertaken in combination with Adult Day Training. Services are focused on helping program participants gain the skills and stability needed to work and live independently in the community.
