Behavioral Services
Many people with intellectual and developmental disabilities display intense, chronic behaviors that may include aggression, property destruction and self-injury. These challenging behaviors can seriously interfere with training and prevent individuals from achieving their highest level of independence. Often, these behaviors also present health and safety hazards not only to the people themselves but to others as well.
For these individuals, The Arc Jacksonville provides services in both behavior analysis and behavior assistance. The principal goal of these services is to help minimize challenging behaviors while teaching new, more appropriate behaviors. The services are community-based and are provided in various settings, such as group homes, family homes and adult day-training programs.
