Become A Volunteer

The Arc Jacksonville is always looking for volunteers—and there are plenty of ways to help!

Come show off your creative side by leading an arts-and-crafts project or by helping design storybooks. Give others the benefit of your business experience by being a guest speaker in our Triumph Industries Day Program. Perhaps you can use your talents around our office or on one of our many strategic committees. Whatever your talents or preferences, we can find the perfect experience for you, whether you want to volunteer individually or as part of a group. The possibilities are endless! Sample volunteer opportunities include:

Annual And Mid-Year Report Mailing
Location: The Arc Jacksonville, Downtown, 1050 North Davis Street
Date/Time: January and June, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (anytime)
Type: Folding and taping newsletters, sorting for bulk mail.

Computer Instructors
Location: The Arc Jacksonville, Downtown, 1050 North Davis Street
Date/Time: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. (anytime)
Type: Serve as a one-to-one instructor in the computer lab, equipped with assistive technology. Lead medically fragile individuals in basic computer skills. A background check and fingerprinting are required.

Arts-And-Crafts Instructors
Location: The Arc Jacksonville, Downtown, 1050 North Davis Street
Date/Time: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. (anytime)
Type: Lead the Medically Fragile Program participants in art projects.

Storytellers/Music Performers
Location: The Arc Jacksonville, Downtown, 1050 North Davis Street
Date/Time: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. (anytime)
Type: Read a story or perform for individuals attending The Arc's day programs.

Triumph Industries Guest Speakers
Location: The Arc Jacksonville, Downtown, 1050 North Davis Street
Date/Time: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. (anytime)
Type: Speak about "real-world" work experience to individuals in The Arc's sheltered workshops.

Storybook Designers
Location: The Arc Jacksonville, Downtown, 1050 North Davis Street
Date/Time: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (anytime)
Type: Create scrapbooks for individuals who attend The Arc Jacksonville's day programs.
