Volunteer at The Arc Jacksonville

The Arc Jacksonville is looking for YOU to bring your talents and interests to those we serve! We will match you in an area of need in the agency, creating a rewarding experience for all! Whether you want to volunteer individually or as part of a group, we will find the perfect experience for you – the possibilities are endless!

Getting started as a volunteer is easy!

Step 1 – Contact the Volunteer Department by phone or email for more information and to schedule an orientation. Orientations are held regularly at all agency locations.

Step 2 – Attend your scheduled orientation to complete your volunteer profile and select your service opportunity.

Current ongoing individual and group volunteer opportunities:

The Arc Jacksonville Downtown Administration office is located at 1050 North Davis Street, Jacksonville, FL 32209. Volunteer opportunities are available Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3pm.


  • Teaching Sessions: Volunteers direct small group sessions, knowledge classes, or educational presentations on various topics including fine art, music, dance, crafts, trivia, etc. This can include group volunteers coming to give performances. These opportunities are available at all Arc locations and group homes.
  • Recreational/Fitness Sessions: Volunteers direct recreational activities such as a football game or a yoga class. Zumba is a favorite among our clients and we are always looking for instructors!  Opportunities can be created based on the volunteer’s background.  This opportunity is available at all Arc locations and group homes.
  • Administrative: Volunteers help the Accounting Department with filing and data input.Administrative volunteers also help with general office tasks such as filing, mailings, scanning, labeling, etc.
The Arc Jacksonville Westside is located at 4401 Wesconnett Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32210. Volunteer opportunities are available Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3pm.


  • Club Arc West: Club Arc West is a social club hosted on Friday nights. Volunteers help with registration, serving at the café, running the DJ booth, and engaging with partygoers! Please visit the Club Arc page for more information.
  • Teaching Sessions: Volunteers direct small group sessions, knowledge classes, or educational presentations on various topics including fine art, music, dance, crafts, trivia, etc. This can include group volunteers coming to give performances. These opportunities are available at all Arc locations and group homes.
  • Recreational/Fitness Sessions: Volunteers direct recreational activities such as a football game or a yoga class.   • Administrative: Reception desk volunteers answer phones and help direct visitors and volunteers to their destinations.
The Village is located at 3675 Kirbo Way, Jacksonville, FL 32224.  Volunteer opportunities are available week days, evenings and weekends.

The Village Operational Hours:
Monday - Thursday: 8:30am to 9:00pm
Friday: 8:30am to 10:00pm
Saturday: 10:00am to 9:00pm
Sunday: 10:00am to 7:00pm

  • Reception and Administrative:  Reception desk volunteers serve as an immediate representation of The Village by being the first face that both residents and visitors see. Duties include answering phones, greeting and directing visitors, and overseeing the mail delivery system. Administrative volunteers may assist staff members by organizing, filing and shredding documents, typing, or other duties.
  • Group Volunteers: Engage your team in a meaningful volunteer experience while making a positive impact in our community. The Village will customize a project based on your availability, interests, and group size. Opportunities include holiday parties and special events, recreational and arts/crafts activities, beautification projects, and skill-based workshops.
  • Club Arc East: Club Arc East is a social club hosted on Friday nights in the Mary Lou Davis Community Center. The disco ball located in the dining room goes down, the music turns up, and the party starts! Volunteers help with running the DJ booth, registration, serving food, and engaging with party goers.
  • Recreational/Fitness Sessions: Volunteers direct recreational activities such as football, yoga, swimming, or basketball. Opportunities can be created based on the volunteer’s background and interests.
  • Teaching Sessions: Volunteers direct small group sessions or educational presentations on various topics including music, dance, crafts, foreign language and ASL, cooking and nutrition, finances, etc. If you have a skill or knowledge base that you would like to share, please inform the Volunteer Coordinator.
There are many internship opportunities at The Arc Jacksonville in various departments: Accounting, Mental Health, Non-Profit Management, Social Services, and more. Internships are to be coordinated well in advance to semester start, so please reach out early!
We welcome volunteers looking to satisfy court ordered community service requirements as long as the alleged offense is not listed on our Affidavit of Good Moral Character here. Due to limitations of staff, we cannot agree to communicate with probation officers and we cannot appear at court hearings. We do however provide documentation of hours served and will sign paperwork authorizing hours and service.
