The Arc Employment Services
Ready to Work in the Community
Individuals seeking employment within a community setting are guided by The Arc Jacksonville toward positions best suited to their abilities. The professional coaches of The Arc Jacksonville consult with employers to identify their unique needs, analyze job duties to determine positions most appropriate for Arc Jacksonville participants and select interviewees who are the best match for the job.
Those seeking a job receive pre-employment skill building, job search assistance, and work training in particular duties. After securing employment, Arc participants are assigned a job coach who provides job-site training in specific skills and counseling on work-related behaviors, including social skills.
Small Group Placement
For individuals who work best among their peers, The Arc small group model places three to five participants with I/DD among employees who are not disabled to work as a team on-site at the company. Supervisors provide on-site training and support as the work is accomplished.
